Reports from the press

Ocean City – The city said on Tuesday that the inner lanes of Route 52 will be closed from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday for the 5-kilometer two-city route.

Drivers may leave Ocean City during that time using the lanes from the bridge, but all motorists traveling into the city are advised to use alternate routes. The city said in a press release that the Longport Bridge, 34th Street Bridge and Ocean Drive will open.

The city said police may adjust scheduled closing hours depending on when all race participants are cleared.

The Two Cities track, which spans Ocean City and Somers Point, is being held for the 26th time. The race runs the length of Route 52, usually in lanes designated for cars.

Registration on race day starts from 7-7:45 a.m. at the Ocean City Transportation Center, 10th Street and Haven Street. The race begins there at 8 a.m. and ends at Kennedy Park at Somers Point.
